Remember that stock speedometers lie, especially at higher speeds. I don't know how accurate the CBR's is, but usually they are off by a margin of somewhere around 3 percent at 60 and increasing to around8 percent past 100 MPH and even more the faster you go. IE, at your indicated 60, the bike is actually doing 58.2 and at an indicated 100, it's probably doing somewhere around 92-95. At an indicated speed of 150 MPH I would guess it's more like 135 true MPH. The only way to tell for sure is a GPS system. Most manufacturers do this on purpose to keep people from speeding when they try to go the speed limit.

No denying that the 600RR is a blazingly fast bike! But for those of you who think you've done nearly 180 MPH, I doubt it.

Well i will tell you what. When my spedo said i was doing 177 it felt like it. The skin in my mouth was sucking inbetween my teeth. Helmet was all up on my face. It felt like 177 and it said 177 regardless the bike is fast and i have over 7k invested into my bike so i have know doubt that it wont go faster. By the way on the dyno my bike read 186mph topspeed HP 138to the wheelI go 0-114 in6.8 sec and i have the slip to prove that.

Hey did you see a big difference from doing something as little as wrapping your headers?

not really just stays a bit cooler. I think the bigest noticable thing that i have done was the sprockets. I just went down one tooth in the front but it made the bigest diferance. Like when i launched real hard at the track the front end would jerk up real hard. Never did that befor. So i lowered it and that helped alot. But a guess after all of the things that has gone onto the bike that made the bigest dif would be all of the little things working together. ie Exhaust and the powercommander. More air more fuel more power. I have the velocity high rise stacks that helped too. bmc air filter, K&N oil filter, I guted the air box from all the little things restricting the air. 114 octane gas, smaler head gasket, head work all of the little things add up to make it a very very fast bike. So like i was saying my bike said i was doing 177 if it is true or not who knows. But it was fast as hell and i had a blast...The Kid
