Default Honda cbr 600 rr airbox connector

Hello,
I have a question regarding honda cbr 600 rr (2006) airbox connector. My bike been idling on high rpm lately, so I was adjusting my automatic choke. Once I reasambled everything, it was running fine, but I noticed that once I start my bike, rpm would be around 1500, and then after few seconds it spikes to about 2000-2500 and back to normal again. Once I pull out that connector, it starts just fine without any rpm jumps.
so my question would be, what that connector is for, what it does? Can I leave it pulled out? Is that ‘rpm spike’ after few seconds normal? Would appreciate your guys insights.
thanks!

edit: ive managed to figure out that its a map sensor and it has to be plugged in obviously. But I still cant figure out if that rpm jump is normal and/or what causes it?

RPM jump is fine. Standard cold-start enrichment routine. The ECU checks IAT and ECT sensors. If still cold, it extends high-RPM operation to warm up engine. If warm enough, it drops to normal.
