I know that there is a way to disable/enable the light itself, cant remember off hand but it had something to do with holding in one of the buttons 'till you see the light flash (cant remember if it's the one on the left or right). I personally dont have a menaul for the bike yet but proper instructions have to be in there somewhere.

Turn ignition switch on.
Press and hold down the ADJ button (left button), for a few seconds.
Turn ignition off.

that's a good question since the bikes are made at the same factory.
if i loose the key it's around $1500 to get a new key and ECU fitted, so first thing moday morning i'm off to the dealer to get a spare at $90 and keeping it in a safe place.

I assume that the 90 bucks key doesnt have the chip? Yeah is expensive but I dont intent to lose my key. Is bike theft common in the US? Its really bad here in the UK. This is my second 06 RR in 6 months. Fitted this one with datatool alarm system and snitcher (sends me a message if my bike is moved). Plus a big fat heavy chain and disc locks. The most annoying thing is carrying the damn chain. weighs a ton.

Got my new key from the dealer today, was told to take it to a locksmith for cutting and to bring it back for coding.
I got curious after getting the key cut. so i inserted the key to see what would happen,to my surprise the bike started!!!!!

Does this mean that if you have a new key cut it’s just a matter of inserting it in the bike and it codes its self or is this HISS thing just crap
