If Im just cruising then Ill be in top gear but if Im in an agressive mood then I may keep the revsabove10k and in 2nd/3rd for some fun!!! The motor spins pretty well and its always nice to make abit of noise aay...
True story- [sm=ts.gif]when i picked my bike up new , on the way home Islowed downto make sure there were actually 6 gears. I was looking for seventh there for a while!

i agree with the other guys. anything over 40-45mph im in 6th gear unless there is moderate traffic moving at speed. in that case i usually keep it in 5th just for a little more passing power in the even of an emergency.

When I am in the city I am usually in 4th or 5th just to have the power there if I need it. Plus the noise helps cagers know I am there. Once I am out of the city it's 6th for cruzing.

I really need a 7th and for some reason I keep thinking it will magicly appear cuz I am always looking for it.

God damn, lol, now I feel like a complete dumb ***. Hey, at least a couple guys are with me on low gears high revving, lol. I just figured that...our bikes are made for high revving, so...and if you think about it, when you're in your ride, check the RPM's out...know what I'm saying, plus are bikes were made to run the **** out of. When I first got the bike, I used to always cruise in 6th, buuut, I was tired of kicking it back down to 2nd or whatever just to get some pick up...I mean, there's a Lambo/Ferrari/Porsche/Shelby1/everything exotic, dealership around here, so there's always ****** who are in their pimp ride that I love to f**k with, and you can't f**k with cars like that if you're in 6th, lol. I've been riding for a little over a year now and am STILL learning new things, thanks to everyone who posted a reply!

a lambo porsche or ferrari wiil eventually own you on the highway if you run it threw the gears, their top end is a lot more than ours. "ourbikes were made to run the **** out of"? ya if you dont want it to last... if your cruising on the highway i dont see a point to rev it up, twistes and racing are a different story
