Default HID vs. Projector

Hey guys looking into purchasing either just an HID kit or get some projectors from xdcycle.com , personally i think the option they give me for having both beams on both with hi/low function is awesome. thats the main factor pushing me towards projectors. any thoughts on the two, looking for some pros and cons on both units. and if anyone has the same bike as me with pictures and/or advice that would be awesome

I am having a problem beaming oncoming cars on non-projector HID. With projector, they said the light is not as blight as without. But I had 3 cars flick their high beam on me and one car actually yelled at me. I am always hoping that cops won't come from other direction. That's the reason why I want to lower the angle of the headlight to see if that will be better. Now looking back, I will go with HID with projector just because I don't want to trouble other drivers

wo cares. the brighter the lights on a bike the easier people see you. i rock hids in the factory housing with blacked out headlights (vht nightshades) and its still super bright.

Its funny how people wanna be seen but are okay with blinding oncoming traffic. Wear a reflecrive vest or put some reflective tape on your helmet. Brights are illegal in traffic for a reason. That being said Regular HIDs are very scattered with the light. Projectors will focus the light an allow you to see further. I want projectors just cant afford them right now.

Exactly. I dont like to be blinded by oncoming cars, so I dont want to blind them neither. Plus I noticed they come close to me when they get blinded

so projectors it is, i found a neat little thing on tripageled.com its a headlight delay type of deal, that'll keep the lights from flickering when i start my bike.

I wouldn't waste your money on that. HIDs fire right up. Even if you want to "flash" your high beam it works. Whats the point in a delay?

I have a set of DDM tuning HIDs 35w 6k's on my bike. No projector housing. They work just fine. Great price.

I agree with this. I got some 6k HIDs, but without projectors the light scatters so much that I actually have more usable light (that is, light that illuminates the area where I'm going to be driving) with regular bulbs than I do with HIDs, even if the HIDs are brighter. So, I'm going back to the normal bulbs.

But, other's have had good results with projectorless HIDs, so YMMV.
