Default has anyone had this problem before?

So i was getting ready to go ride one morning and happen to notice my fuel cap didnt look right. the more i looked at it, the more I noticed that the cap was depressed into the tank itself, one side more than the other. I dont know if the change in weather from hot to cold would have something to do with it, i dont recall setting anything heavier than my helmet on the tank... No falls or drops to explain it either. I guess its time to take some plastics off to try to remedy the problem.

Wow, can't say I have ever seen or heard of anyone with that problem before. May be time to go to the shop.

That's just plain bizarre, not sure what to make of that at all.

It looks to me like the tank cover is just coming up....Silly question I know...but are all your allan bolts on your plastics down?

Also I think if I remember there is a plastic pin/rubber grommet that's located towards the front of the bike that keeps it in place. I seem to remember a set up like that when I was changing my air filter last.

I see zero chance that the cap sunk in. It's FAR more likely that your plastic is coming up. There's 2 bolts up front, 2 under the seat, and 2 on the sides if I'm not mistaken. You gotta take the mids off to get to them all. The other alternative is that your entire gas tank fell out of place.

+1 shoortbuss, when I put my race fairings on I can never get the tank fairing to sit correctly around the rubber seal thats around the gas cap, therefore the tank fairing sits up a little bit making the gas cap look like its depressed

Has to be the plastics. If I remember correctly, the gas tank is held in place by two bolts on either side, and one long bolt at the back that allows the tank to pivot. area in the rear. There's no way it could "fall" or change that much position......even with all the bolts removed. HAS to be the plastics.
