Default Gas mileage

Alright guys so here is the scoop I have an 06 600rr with around 5500 miles on it. Ever since I have had the bike I have only gotten around 36-38 miles on a tank of gas. Is this pretty normal because I expected to get around 40 if not more. Is there anything I can do to increase my gas mileage? I guess I could change my riding style but I dont usually cruise over 6000 rpm.

36-38 miles per TANK? I have the same bike same year and get anywhere from 100-115 miles per tank. Most of my driving is city driving to and from work.

Iride like I stole the bike and I'm right around 34 miles per gallon or so, but then again, I don't have stop and go traffic at all.

You're fine...I can't believe nobody assumed it was a mis-type!??!?! Anyway, my '05 was getting 36 mpgwith ~13,000 miles on the motor after I learned how to ride it. When I first got it w/5000 miles, and didn't know how to ride, I was getting about 31 mpg. The '07 is getting about 40 mpg. I do/did 70% stop/go driving and the rest is crusing/highway with both bikes.
