Default Gas?

This may be kind of a newb question, but I've been hearing differing opinions on this. A friend of mine said I SHOULD NOT run premium fuel in my bike, while another friend of mine says I SHOULD ONLY run premium in my bike. What do you guys run, and what do you think I should run? Bike is all stock.

I have an '06 as well; I always run 91 octane. I believe the owner's manual says to do this, but I don't have mine with me at work to check.

Edit: Turns out I have a bad memory, 86 octane + is the manual recommendation.

The manual tells me anything over 86 is fine. I run premium in my truck... which isn't a high performance engine. So I figure I should run it in my high-performance bike.

if i run anything less then 93 in my atv it fouls out the plug everytime.

your bike is capable of burning 93 octane so why not use it? it will give you the best horse power and performance . i also have a 06 tribal

there are alot of different point of views on this, you can run anything over 86 like your manual says. you get no performance gains from running a higher octane fuel. so its really up to you.

the bikes dont have an automatic ignition advance do they? bc if they dont, anything over the 86 will not help at all, it would actually hurt it, but prolly not a very noticable amount

you can run whatever you want its your bike but its made to run on the 86 and would run best with it
