frame sliders
I'm looking at getting a set of frame sliders for my side fairings... however, I noticed there wasn't any "non-cut" ones really... Am I going to have to cut into my fairing for them? I was talking to some1 with a 1000rr and he didn't have to, he looked at mine and said I would most likely have to though. Also, where should I be looking to get these from? I was looking on ebay. Thanks.

RE: frame sliders
bump, I ordered some ebay 30 dollar frame sliders a few weeks ago. I don't know if I am going to put them on though. They don't look too promising and from what I've seen, theres supposed to be 2 different size bolts and like a washer type thing for 1 side isn't there? Because the bolts that came with mine are the exact same with no washer or anything...
heres a link... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/03-06...mZ360068805322
so are they worth putting on? or should I throw them out and spend money on some more expensive ones?

RE: frame sliders
i say put em on. just so you have something on there. get some r&g tho they are tight.
how long ago did you get your bike, no offense but you sound like you just picked up your bike yesterday.
no cut frame sliders just have extensions to go around your plastics and come out an opening, ergo no cut needed. they are available but they are ****. dont get them they usually break off during an accident or slow speed fall and when they do break they can bend into your crank case and f up more than you bargained for.
go to the search bar and look up frame slider installation, its been writen up about a thousand times. its not that hard. all you need from your sliders are the sliders themselves, the bolts they come with, and washers, everything else is already on your bike

RE: frame sliders
About 3 months ago I got it. If you look I posted this 2 months ago, I'm just bumping it because I had questions about using these or getting better ones. I realize I'm going to have to cut into the fairing regardless to get real usage out of them, I don't mind. The install doesn't seem too difficult, I've searched and read the install threads.

RE: frame sliders
Use the search, this has been beat to death just as much as tires, fender eliminators and slip-on's on this site...also year and make of bike would be some good info to provide.
I've heard R&G makes the best set and the Woodcraft ones are excellent also...I had a set off Ebay on my bike recently, and when it fell over in the driveway while idling the other week, the frame slider exploded into 5 pieces and my left side fairing is now damaged [:@][:@][:@]
Spend the extra $ on a good set, I know I will and I've learned that the hard way.
