Thats your stator which works as an alternator. It'll prolly run you about $150.

Wow, that bites. I wouldnt keep starting it if I were you. I'd get everything accounted for and put back in just incase there may be more internal damage.

Where did all the grass come from?

Damn, sorry to hear about the mishap. How'd it happen? It looks pretty f*cked up. Hope you're alright after that. Another thing that I'd check out on the bike is the rectifier. If it's bad/broken/not hooked up, it'll have the same symptoms. I remember when I took my bike up to the dealership to have my pistons and other engine work done, I was like," I only want your best technician working on my bike." So, I dropped it off and a couple days later, they called me and said it was done. I was happier than a 3 peckered billygoat! I grabbed my gear, went to get my bike, and went riding, only to have my bike "die" on me at least a dozen times. I got pretty pissed, so I called the dealership. They ended up coming and getting both me and the bike. Anyways, we didn't even get the bike out of the trailer and their "head technician", their "He's the best we have..." technician, aame out with a box of tools in hand, and said," I'm pretty sure I know what the problem is. I think that I forgot to hook the rectifier back up..." Sure enough, it was the rectifier. So, check that out too. It may very well be your rectifier. Hope you don't run into any more problems than you already have. Just be sure to keep us posted and let us know how you're doing and your bike as well.
