Default Hips cramping from riding any help?

I wanted to ask the experienced people on this forum if there is a way to reduce cramping and fatigue from riding. When I ride for a while My hips start to hurt and cramp up. Are there any stretches or am I riding improperly. Any help would be appreciated.

1. Eat less salt
2. Stretch (not just before a ride)
3. Take up cycling
4. Use the gym
5. Take a kick boxing course

A sportbike like a rider that's in shape.

i have that same prob now and again. never had this when i had my F3, but on the 1000rr it happens. maby its cause im 6'1" and im not utilizing my body position correctly. i just stand up on the pegs for a couple seconds..and not when riding too fast or when there are cages around me.

Ive found (im 6'2, only 165 ) that if I sit up next to the tank I can relax a lot more for just piddling around... if nothing else, just stand up and yank it into a wheely... thatll make you forget about your cramps hahahah seriously though, Thex has it right... to be able to ride these like they were meant to be ridden, gotta be in good shape. Do you walk often? If you cant do anything else, walking around will help limber you up, get you used to using specific muscle types for longer periods of time. Just keep ridin till you cant, it'll eventually go away

good luck, enjoy, ride safe,

Chris

id say im in pretty good shape. 6'1" 165-170lbs. played soccer for 18yrs and snowboard for 12yrs. plus in my line of work i get a cardio workout daily. so i think im in pretty good shape. im thinking maby some adjustable rear sets will eleiviate the problem...maby.

CORBIN SEAT!

Makes a huge difference. For simple city driving, not as much. But if you are riding to and from somewhere that takes more than 20 minutes, the Corbin is WELL worth it.

For example:

I rode from Las Cruces, NM to Phoenix, AZ. (600 miles roughly). Stock seated going there. Had to pull over every hour to get off and stretch and take a rest....and I got extremely sore. The riding fatigue just sucked. A local dealer in Phoenix had a Corbin seat for the 600RR, so I bit the bullet and shoveled out $300 bucks for it. On the way home, I only pulled over for gas. NIGHT AND DAY difference when on the highway.

So if you do a lot of highway travel, a Corbin (or other aftermarket seat) is going to help tremendously.

Usually, I'll put on the Corbin when I take a longer trip (over an hour), but I still perfer the stock seat for everyday city riding and the track.

........and muscle conditioning helps too.

Thank you all for the advise. I figured that was the case. I just need to ride more and stretch out.
