Default Fender Eliminator

I ride an 04 600RR and I tried to build my own fender eliminator and it did not work out too well. I was planning on ordering a kit off eBay and I was wondering if it was a good idea and roughly how hard it would be to get the stock pieces off and get the new ones on.

basically its a sheet of 22 guage. Trace the outline of the tag onto the steel sheet and in the top left corner make a square piece that will be your mounting bracket. Drill two holes through it the drill two holes into your battery box and sequre with botls and lock washers.

Ok just how simple is that to do since I am mildly retarded and not very mechanically inclined. Is there a chance that I could really screw something up.

A monkey could make one of these. Just go by ace hardware or any hardware store and pick up a sheet of steel and just have at it. Just take your time and use some common sense. it helps to make a template out of cardboard first anf have a nice ruller for a straight edge and for measurements.

Or just buy one like me. Took about 2 hours to get it on, and I'm mechanically retarded

The kit pictured above this post is the Competition Werks fender eliminator kit and the lights come with the kit.

I have the same kit and like it a lot. It is a quality item and easy enough to install. If you are unsure of your self I recommend having a friend over to help. Take it slow and methodical and if you are not experienced at all in mechanics then take pics during the process of removing parts and label bolts so you won't have any questions where anything goes.

I did not use the signal lights because my signals are integrated into the tail light. That made the installation easier for me.
