I have the RR and know many people with the f4i. For one, the riding angle is much more aggressive. The tail sticks up much higher, and it has the undertail exhaust. It handles more aggressively and is much more responsive with turn-in. There is a TON more throttle response, almost too much. A power commander is a good way to go to fix this. It becomes a little annoying on how touchy it is when you let on or off the throttle. The RR is definately not a bike for comfort. The seat is more firm and the tank likes to fly into your "boys" when you hit the brakes or bring the front up.

Basically, if you want a bike to go freeway cruising every weekend, then the F4I is the way to go. If you want a badass, in your face styling with the ***** to back it up, then RR all the way. I love the RR for it's ability to corner like a go-kart and it's high-rpm kick. One thing I've also noticed is how the unit link pro suspension keeps the back end stable at all times without compromising rideability. I'm not sure if the F4I has this too, but I read up on how the RR has two fuel injectors per cylinder. One set is full-time, while the other set kicks in over 5000rpm. Anyways, this is what I've heard and noticed about them so far. I hope this helps.

I learned the hard way that the RR is touchy on throttle. Went for a nice pop up and ended up on the pavement[8D]. Just something you have to get use to. But I love the RR!

Anyone else have input into this question. i am also in the market for my frist sportbike. i currently ride an xr 250 off and on road(illegally of course).

is the rr significantly faster or better? is the f4i that much more comfortable? and are these the only two major differences?

The RR and F4i are two completely different bikes. The RR is not in any way a glorified F4i with a few more options..The RR is to the F4i as the Kawasaki ZX-6R is to the ZZR 600..Class A and Class B sportbikes.I'll stick with the class A.

Brakes are stronger, handling is better but requires more effort, top end has a bit more rush, seating position is more aggressive like the others said, but I don't find it uncomfortable, frame is completly diffrent and how the engine hangs making it very easier to work on by lifting the tank on it back bolts...

I ride with a buddy who has a F4i and rode his on an aggressive test ride when we went to buy it. You can't go wrong with either one.

The F4i has been around a bit longer than the RR which could part of the reason you find more of those for sale..
When the F4i was introduced it was just as bad *** as the 600RR, but things change and everyone wants to have the newest collest toy which.
Would you rather read todays paper or last weeks paper?? Both are full of information, but....... same thing with bikes....
