Default F4i sold...Onto the 600RR!

Welp, today was the day. The weather being ugly and miserable sorta fit the mood. I sold my F4i. Got a great deal so I couldn't pass it up.

After the sale I went to the local honda dealer and asked them what they could do for me on a Silver 08 600RR. They said $8999. After being approved for financing and such, came close to $11,000!

Now, my question is this. Taking in the price of $11,000 included the GAP at $390, Warranty at $590, then the tax + title/etc.

I see people saying that they paid $9000 out the door. How is that possible or is it being paid in cash?

This will be the first bike I buy brand new so I'm lookin for some advice. I'm considering skipping the GAP, or is that a bad idea?

I'm lookin to deposit $2500 and finance the rest with a 6.9% rate is what I was approved for.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

The $8999 can be beat. Go online and find the best price you can. Take that to your dealership and they will match it. If I remember right, I have seen the 08 for as low as $8399. My boss was looking to buy a new Shadow 750. We went to the local dealer and they told him msrp of $6499 and they can't come off that any because they sell alot at that price. We told him another dealer 3 hours away was advertising them at $4999. In the same breath he told us he couldn't budge off the msrp, he told us he would beat it by $50. My boss told him he had a chance to sell it the first time he asked but he lied. So he said he would spend the extra $50 and drive to Dallas to deal with an honest dealer.

my '07 cost was like 8,100

then after tax license etc it came to 8,999 OTD

i paid cash but i have heard that GAP coverage is a must.

god forbid you wreck that brand new bike you end up not owing the rest of the amount or something like that.
i cat remember the exact terms of it but it sounded like a good thing to have, not to mention everyone i know that is financing/has financed has got it..

Thats y they are called stealership!!
You could have got a 1000RR from NY,Brooklyn honda dealership for prolli the same price or little higher...!
That apr is crazy for a bike...they usually give you like 3-4%.
neways enjoy your ride..

do a little research on line, see what else is being advertised, then go back into that dealership in a couple of days armed with a little more info. If you go in there 2 -3 times over a couple of weeks, not begging for a deal, but just looking at the bike, and letting them know you will buy (when the price is right).
eventually they will sell you the bike for rock bottom after they get tired of dicking with you.

I bought an 08honda accord sedan a couple ofmonths ago, they were asking just over$24K for it. they spent 2hrs telling me they were at their lowest price and couldnt do any better. sorry, and I left. about a week and half later, I took my othercar back for an oil change, and wandered back to the showroom all nonchalant, (just to let the salesman know I was still in the area) next thing I know he's approaching me wantingme tocome back to table. this time I got the deal I wanted, $20,900 before taxes. Nice, you dont get $4k off anew carvery easily.

one of the techniques is to let them know you are serious about buying, but you got no emotion about THAT bike.
