Default bike wont start any ideas

Ok so i got home parked my bike went into my house then realized i forgot my phone at my friends so i hoped back on my bike tried to start it and nothing. The little red light is on and thats about it. I just did an oil change yesterday so i dont know if that has anything to do with it, but i checked the oil level and it is exactly where i filled it to(close to the top line in the window),also checked where the bike wasparked all night and not a drop of oil. Also i just got a new battery about a month ago soi know its not that. bike only has 3600mi on it so i have no clue whats wrong anyone have any ideas?

do you use the kill-switch to stop the motor when you are done riding?

it is a wear item and the little connections in the switch can break if it is used excessivly

this may be the stupid answer in the group, but is the kickstand down? as we know, when the kickstand is down and the bike is in gear it will not start.

I never feel the need to use the kill switch. I always just turn the keys.

ok so i was checking the cable connections to the battery and i figured i would pull the battery and give the terminals and cables a nice wire brush scrub and baking soda/water clean and decided since i have the battery out i mind as well test it, Low and behold it was dead as could be. anyone have any ideas why this could be as this is my secound dead battery on a bike with only 3600 miles although the first one was my fault, went out of the country for a year and left the bike sitting with out doing anything when i came back the clock was not even on. so i decided i mind as well just replace but this battery i almost brand new.
