F1 light

Default F1 light

I am new to the website and already i have got great info about my bike. I am a new owner to 2008 cbr 600 and my f1 light is on i understand the there are codes but where can i classify this without spending a leg and arm and replacing parts not need be. if anyone could hel the would be great?

if the FI light is on while the bike is running, you need to pull the code to point you and us in the right direction. the manual, download one if you dont have one, will explain how to retrieve the codes. once the code is retrieved, the system with the fault will be identified and the tracing fun begins.

Thanks, and do you suggest any website downloads? i have read a few but none of those match my light it does like 2 or 3 slows blinks then like 6 or7 7 fast i know this is the code, but i can't seem to find it anywhere.

Slows are the 10s
Fast are the 1s

For ex, 3 slow 4 fast is 34. Gotta count them correctly. There are downloadable manuals on this forum. Look in the stickies in the 600rr section. The code definitions are pretty standard for fi bikes, so get the code and i'll look it up in mine.

thanks i just go toff work so time to see whats up! let me know, and it is a 34 i just counted it, also there is a rattling in the inanition or possibly some where else up by the forks any ideas.

code 34 has to do with voltage to the EGCV motor. check to see if its plugged in. its a little motor with cables that go to the exhaust and intake. if its plugged in, ensure the stuff that attaches to the cables moves freely.

have you done any air box/filter or exhaust mods right before this happened?

yes there is a slip on akroprovic exhaust and where is the egcv located is that underneath the seat?

on the frame under the seat. a slip on shouldn't do it...

oh i took the bike apart yesterday to check the filter and what not!!! i am new to hondas so thanks for your help! i am pretty sure it might be bad then or have a miss connection but i think i found where it is located right under the seat easy to get is it behind the battery? like mounted at the top really easy to get too

make sure your air filter isnt binding things up too.

on the left side of the frame on top.
