Default exhaust backwards compatibility?

Anyone know if the yosh RS-5 for the 03-04 600RR will fit the 07-08? I thought i saw someone fit an older exhaust on without any problems. Came across one for $275, but it's for the old model. Maybe just a mid-pipe issue?

anyone care if i rant a little more? It kills me that i'm gonna have to pay close to $500 for a decent slip-on.....now come on!!! I understand the need for profit, but this is a little ridiculous, isn't it? I love the carbon-fiber yosh, and the carbon fiber Scorpion Oval.....but i can't bring myself to shell out $500 for a sound/look mod!!

Ok, rant over, sorry.
