I bought a 2007 CBR600RR from my cousin and the DMV is asking for a motor number. Looked all around the motor and can't find it. Does anyone know where it is? Apparently it is different from the VIN.

I'm not sure if you've found it yet, but its on the right side of the bike, just about where your knee/shin would be. Its above the clutch cable. Pull the clutch in and out a few times and you'll see what I'm talking about.
