Default Dyno Results

I had my bike on the dyno today. I was wondering does the altitude (im in colorado) effect the amount of horsepower, and does the engine being really hot (i took it in at 220) effect the horsepower. Just curious because i have a power commander and i thought that it would of helped some. It only ran 100.3 horsepower. Just curious. Cause i thought that was lower than stock. Thanks

J

Yes, you should be a bit more than that. Dynos vary. My F2 piped, jetted, K&N made 89 hp after tuning. Buddy's SRAD made 100. Yosh pipe, K&N, jetted, tuned.

High temps ROB your HP so I wouldn't worry about it. Go out there and run against someone and see how you stack up ;-)

don't forget that you also don't have the ram air induction when sitting stationary on a dyno this will also affect the HP

engines loose power at a rate of 3% for every 1000' above sea level. Most dyno's use a mathamatical "correction factor" to account for this.
