Default From Ducati to Honda...what shoud I look out for?

Hello,I have recently decided to switch from Ducati to Honda...more specifically looking for a 2003 CBR 600 RR.

I have heard the CBR's are pretty damn reliable and lowon maintenance cost(reason for switch), but wanted to know firsthand if there is anything I need to watch out for?

My colleague has a 2003 CBR RR 600 (yellow) that has almost 3k miles.
I am about to offer him KBB retail for it $5670, and just wanted to check in.

Thanks!

Start at a lower price. You can always come up but you can't go back down. It's fall and prices should be lower because the season is slowly ending. Honestly, if you have the cash for the bike, test ride it and see how you like it. Shifting is chunky on these bikes but you should be able to tell if there is anything else wrong with it with a ride. I don't have any problems with mine. Welcome.

some 2003-2004 machines have faulty voltage rectifier / voltage regulator modules. honestly, if you want a no-problems CBR600RR, start looking for 2005 or 2006s with an emphasis on the 2006... especially for the price you're about to offer him.

If you ask me, the 03-04 600RR is really not that impressive in comparison with the newer models. The 05-06 model has a stronger engine and is 9 lbs lighter with improved suspension. The 07-08 model is 20 lbs lighter than the 05-06 model and has a vastly improved engine and even better still suspension and steering.

If you were going to pay well over 5K for an 03, let me call your attention to another thread on this forum that has tons of people claiming 8K OTD prices for brand new 07 models from dealer floors. Why not spend a couple more K and get the best middleweight in history?

^ Because if you keep shooting for the best, you will only keep spending money and changing bikes. Every year or couple years they make it better and trying to keep possessing the best is futile. Take something that's good and enjoy it because, most likely, you won't ride to the limits of what the bike can do.

So I picked up a 600RR the other day.

So far i love the bike...but i don't love the insurance rates!
first impression was that the bike is that it's pretty damn comfortable.
Also, the bikedoes not geteven half as hot as my 748 would get.

Bought it...

Just sold it...

As far as insurance rates go, I would check with State Farm. They have the lowest rates out there by far.

Nice looking 600RR, and nice Duc. I've always like the 748, and only with I could afford a 1098.
