All right let me get this right, you went to MD to check out the street racing scene and everyone who had a bike there had it lowered. So you get home thinking I'm gonna do the same on my own bike and now you're here asking what your suspension setting should be. Last time I checked on an RR, suspension settings didn't come in soft, medium, hard. Absolutely squidlike behavior.
If you change one part of the equation(ie. ride height) then the rest has to balance itself out which could render the bike absolutely unrideable. Just to make the bike rideable you're gonna need to change to much more firm springs and possibly revalve the shock to accomodate the limited travel of the suspension. And thats only with you on the bike, I think you'll wanna put a passenger on the back once in a while .
It's possible but would be hella expensive. Might as well make it a paper weight.

No dis "but"? I see, stomp on the lil guy because he has less posts. Ya know fretless33 I was simply supporting your argument, a three inch drop could be downright dangerous. It's not hard to understand how sensitive these type of changes are to a bike. I too dont understand the utility of dropping a bike designed for racetrack superiority but hey to each their own.

Hey jumpserve, no dis but you're only a "new member" so I think my reply has more clout than yours! Could we get someone higher than a "super member" in here please, because none of us so far know what the heck we're talking about

Jesus christ! 3" drop? are you extending the swing arm? polishing the frame? and putting chrome rims on it? You might as well. Isn't stock height like 5" inches? If you drop it that low, better make the suspension rock hard so the bike doesn't dip down and scrape your headers and oil pan when you hit ditches and bumps on the road.

Hmm my bike is lowered 3 in and 1 in the front and it isnt a problem i happend to like the way it looks. Both my best friends ride 06 GSXR 1000's that sit lower than my bike and they drag them and do pretty damn good i just dont see why everybody gets all upset when somebody talks about lowering a bike. I mean thats all we ride where im from big guys, little guys,600s and 1000's and busas.90% of the guys i ride with have a lowered bike
