What's the latest Tweak? Some times I think the best prevention would be to hear the continued stories of tremendous struggle & loss that folks go through when they make some immature decisions & wreck their lives going forward. I don't mean this calloused towards this guy - don't know him & still feel for him even though he brought it upon himself. Just trying to help us all learn, cause truth of the matter is....WE ALL DO SOME STUPID THINGS from time to time & kinda get by with it. He didn't. Let's learn from this together.

Last night I was out for a 50 mile blast through the twisties. I just made the decision to ride within my limits & to be conservative EVERYWHERE I really couldn't see to confirm what was ahead. I'm trying to build good habits from the start of my riding. The best practises I have in my Z06 I transfer to the bike. The road just is NOT a track. Never has been, never will be.

thats why i made the post and thats why everytime you guys wrtie about going down or almost going down i read it because i hope i will be able to use the knowledge one day, you were just able to put my thoughts into words....

I dont like the fact that everyone thinks its incompassionate to talk about this like we have i feel sorry for the kid on levels the bills hes going to have to pay, what he has foolishly done because the pain its putting his family through.... he made real dumb desciosns that day and he is blessed that this is all that happened to him if you would have seen it you would thought he would be dead...he is lucky he gets to learn frin this experience, however hard it may be

ok jet hes pretty druged up right now hes got rods holding his pelvis and leg togother in addition to casts.... hurts to breath, sneeze anything like that cause so many ribs are broken. I dont know about his liver and kidneys but the doctors didnt say anything about it so i guess they are healing. He is breathing on ihis own

 

Thanks Tweak. I agree with you, I don't want to be incompassionate whatsoever. In fact, I'm just the opposite as a person I feel for those who're hurting. But, we all have to learn from the mistakes of others or we can & will repeat many of them. That's what I'm in this for, to learn to avoid duplicating.

Same thing happens in flying. Guys screw up. We who have also screwed up, but haven't paid for it yet, have to stop & discuss & learn - or we will often do the same or worse.

Sounds like he's in for a long road to recovery. Lots of bills. Lots of pain. Maybe never again the same. Liver & kidneys are big deals. I will keep him in my prayers.

Why are you getting on the original poster, he did not do anything wrong. The "new guy" had it comming if you ride like that and have no consideration for yourself or others on the road, then you deserve to crash. And im not just some dick out of no where saying this I have proof to back it up, I am a professional FireMedic and I see this **** all the time. You cannot really call this kid your friend if he goes out and is not truthfull with you about his riding experience, or lack there of. He put everyone on that road at risk when he got on his bike, yeah it is unfortunate that this happened but it did happen and for a reason. Just my 2 cents

People dont listen (they get this "im a ****ing gangster" thought in their head and do stupid sh*t), my friend followed my line during rush hour traffic after i told them they wouldnt be able to keep up and he laughed and said try it.... 5 minutes later, rear ends an suv and almost gets ran over. And he blames me. WTF.

Its your choice to strap on your helmet, and get goin. You set your limits, you set your life. Ppl dont understand.

There are ppl taht have been down, and ppl that are going down. Ive been down 2 times now and the last time almost the same thing that happened to the "NEW GUY"... ran over by a semi truck, and drug 28 ft by my head. It was my choice to strap that ICON on that day and ride away.

OK, WOW! I am beginning to question this when I tell my brother we got a great group of guys in this forum because right now I am seeing nothing but a bunch of SCUM in this thread. My brother almost died from a rookie mistake you a**holes. Yeah he was riding out of his bounds and shouldn't have been but that doesn't mean he deserved to go down and almost lose his life.

And as for the one who primarily posted this thread. No-one cares about how the kids bike looked. They care about his condition and solely that. When my brother went down, not a single person asked about the bike. I live with him and didn't even see the bike for a couple of days after he was admitted to the hospital where he spent two months. I found help through another forum. Found people who cared. Titled the thread "Prayers for my brother." And ya know what, I got people who cared, not all were religious but even those who weren't offered their help. I didn't go and label the thing *Near DEAD in an ICU.* His bike was around a month old, did I talk about how it pissed me off that an unpaid for new bike was destroyed!? NO!!! Cause that would make me the lowest scummiest person in the world and I would currently have your title. SHOW SOME COMPASSION![:@] You don't know the details on the kid but you will rip apart his riding and talk about how it upsets you to see some metal and plastic on the road. You know what upsets me? Seeing blood on the road, flesh on the road. Seeing someone lay in a hospital bed for 2 F*ckin months, not able to talk to him for the first month. Waiting in a waiting room for weeks. Watchin my parents cry because just down the hall, their son and my brother is screaming in pain for the first 4 nights we spent at the hospital. The fact that every time I went in to see him after they put him into an induced coma for the most part, I could merely stand there and look at him, tubes coming out from everywhere, all roughed up, all messed up. NOTHING is worse than that. Do me a favor, DON'T POST ANYTHING LIKE THIS AGAIN because it shows how much of a ***** you are.
