My rear plate bracket is a strip of steel folded at right angles at the ends, with holes drilled in those ends, which fit the rear bolts that hold the passenger footpegs on. Should have painted the bracket black instead of silver. I have a $3 plate/sticker bracket with the sticker positioned above the plate, against the exhaust. Turn signals are currently 2 LED's in each foot peg, but i'm adding a clear alternatives taillight when it gets here. License plate light is a simple conduit bolt with an LED inside, screwed into the rear fender and aimed at the plate. plate is mounted almost parallel to the exhaust, and i bent the plate downward to increase visibility and so the plate light would shine on it. Then, i used a right angle surface and hammered the bottom lip of the plate under at a 90 degree angle to increase hugger clearance. Plus, the curved plate touching the hugger won't scratch like the bottom edge of the plate would. The entire plate is very visible from the rear, as is the inspection sticker. the reflector bolts make it street legal, and when the exhaust is clean and polished, i get a cool double image of the plate. I'd like to see more guys use this setup, as it only costs a couple bucks to make.

Thanks for the pictures. They really help. I think my setup is going to be as follows for the fender eliminator. I am going to send the foot pegs off to have the leds put in as turn signals. I am going to custom fabricate the bracket for the plate and either have leds put in the hugger to illuminate the light or strategically place a light to illuminate.

 

I would like to see some night pics- they always add "light" to the situation

 

ive heard of people doing LED's in the hugger, but i don't know how the wiring would work. i opted to keep it all nice and close together, so the right footpeg and license light wires are run together under the tail fairing. the picture turned out pretty bad, but i got the right turn signal to show up. keep in mind, the license plate light definitely isn't bright, but it works. the picture was taken in the garage, unlit except for the lights on the bike. As for the footpegs, i wouldn't pay someone to do it. Mine came like that, but they were done half-***, so i redid the wiring and siliconed over the cavities so no wire is exposed. if youve got a drill and a solder gun, you could probably tackle it yourself.

oops and i posted my license plate number. don't hurt me now! but yeah. the license plate light isn't great, but it's very clean, and it's legal. plus, some municipalities have laws that your turn signals have to be a certain distance apart (ive seen as much as 14"), so where the clear alternatives could get you in trouble under these rules, the footpeg led's are good. i just wish they were a little brighter during the day.
