i own a 2006 cbr 600rr i recently had a minor accident and i cracked the left clutch cover..i was wondering does this cover hold any oil inside becuz wheni wrecked ther was oil everywhere? im new to riding and new to bikes any positive info would help.. thanks

its not that major, u can get a new cover for like 80.00 bucks

 

If you don't mind some minor scratches.. I have a clutch cover from my 2006 600rr that you can have for cheap!

 

the clutch cover is on the right side of the bike
the stator cover is on the left.
the stator cover is a lot easier to replace than the clutch cover
there is a write up on how to do them on 600rr.net

 

Yep, our bikes use a wet clutch (meaning it is immersed in oil,) so cracking the cover would cause it to leak.

THAT IS YOUR ENGINE OIL AS WELL, SO I HOPE YOU DIDN"T TRY TO RIDE THE BIKE AFTERWARDS!!!!!

That is also why regular oil changes with the proper oil are so important.
Wrong type of oil will either cause your clutch to slip, or your engine to sieze.

 

ive had the bike for 2 months..so if the stator cover is cracked will that cause the oil to spill..?? srry for the ignorant im still learning

 

yes... it will.
replace the over, you can get a used one for like 40-50.
take of the fairings and investigate.
