Question Corbin or Gel seats? Airhawk?

So as some of you may know i'm going on a cross country motorcycle trip this summer (June 30th - July 17th) and am bringing the CBR.

Was thinking about getting a different seat - anyone tried any out for the 09+ 600 RR's?

Haven't really started looking yet.

Oh look - Motorcycle Seats

the 600rr section doesnt seem to get any love like the f4i section does. Never heard a bad thing about corbins. Ive always thought that the saddlemen seats by far and away look the best but they only make them for the 07+'s so im out of luck and ive heard there are fitment issues in terms of leaving a big gap between the seat and the tank that doesnt look right.

never heard of airhawk. are those just covers to put on whatever seat you have?

Yeah the 600RR section really doesn't get as much traffic as it used to. I troll it a lot still. I saw your post but can't really comment on it because I have never rode a bike with a seat other than stock. I have sat on a R1 and a ZX-6R with a Corbin seat and the seats are hard as a rock but it's how it distributes the weight of your big *** that makes it much more comfy. The owners of those bikes swear by them and say they can ride for a lot longer. Personally I have a hard time spending that kind of cash on a rock hard seat. Also I'm never really on the bike for more than a hour so it is not worth the investment to me. With you going across the country I would invest in a better seat. I have not heard one bad thing about Corbin but like I said I can't comment.

Yeah this place is a bit of a ghost town.

Air Hawk is a company that started off making air cushions for hospital beds but branched out into seat coverings. The more I researched they don't make anything specifically for a sportsbike but I could probably make it fit. they have like 10 different sizes.

I wish I knew someone with a Corbin to try it out. hard to justify 250 for a seat though..... Although on the trip it might well be a 250 i'd sell my soul to spend halfway through.

Yeah i hear you on the price. Thats why i never pulled the trigger on one everytime i thought about putting one on my f4i. That thing was comfy enough anyway. But on the plus side they usually sell used for 2-250 at least from the ones ive seen so you could always get it and use it for the trip and sell it after for almost what you paid if for some reason you dont think its worthwhile? But based on everything ive seen and read from people that have owned them i bet youll think it was the best thing you bought for the trip.

Yeah nick I think i'm gonna buy one.

Nice Vol - I'll have to check that out.

Anyone know a good (Read cheaper) place to buy either one? Seems like they're both around low 2's.
