Default Connector

So i was just kinda lookin over the half of my bike that's in my kitchen right now, and inside the battery box i see a red, square, female-ended 4 prong connector.

What the heck is this for? lol i don't remember ever disconnecting this.....

i had my tail off today and saw the same thing. I didn't disconnect anything at all, so who knows what it could be.

I'm not 100% sure, but it's either a pre wired harness for an aftermarket alarm or maybe a harness to plug in some sort of computer thingy for the dealer. When I bought my 06 F4i, it had an alarm in it all hooked up, but I didn't want it so they just unhooked it.

I would assume that it's for running a diagnostic test when you take it to the repair shop.
