Default Checking oil

I looked at the service manual on how to check the oil level, I looked through the little slit at the bottom of the fairing but I didn't see anything that looked like I could see the oil level.

I saw a round part that looks like I could see an oil level but everything down there looks to be dirty. Am I missing something or do I have to pull the bottom fairing off as if I were changing the oil so I can clean what I am supposed to be able to see?

It's an 06 RR just for reference.

I believe You need to make the bike level (as possible) then look. I thought the same thing till I first put it up on stands

Yea it was on level ground just not on stands. I had the kickstand down, I need to do a good clean up of the bike anyway.
