Default tire opinions

ok so i need new tires for my 07 and i was wandering what everyone thought was the best for grip as well as mileage. i like to ride the twistys but im not as fast in them as id like and i also ride the interstate for commuting and visiting home so i need something that grips well and gives good confidence in twisties as well as wears good for highway use. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks

My dad recently put Pilot Roads on the R1 I sold him. I got to try them out this weekend and they were great in the twisties. Not my cup of tea as far as tire selection goes but for a lot of hwy riding with a trip through the twisties every once in awhile they would be good.

I used to run Pilot Powers and would get good wear out of them, although "good" depends on who you're talking to. Probably 4-5k miles out of a rear and 8-10k out of a front (the closer to 10 they got, the more sketchy they became)

I'll probably switch to Pilot Power 2CT when I buy tires next. Which probably wont be to long since the bike has power pure on it at the moment.

If you get after the Twistys for realz get the Michelin Pilot Power 2cts.

They're awesome. I have them and love them.

But you honestly sound more like the Pilor Road 3's would be better for you. These still can wail in the corners, but have a stronger compound for better mileage.
Three of my friends use the Road 3's and like them a lot. My one buddy can freakin FLY in the twisties so they're certainly grippy enough.

I personally would rather change tires a little more often and have the stickier compound. But i'm all about the turns, so I have the 2ct's myself.

We actually have the road 2's

Road

F'n

2's

Edit: Road 2's = slightly more mileage, Road 3's = more stickyness
My roommate has put close to 10k front and rear on his road 2's and loves them, still has tread to spare. I just got my set a little while ago, but very impressed so far.
