i originally took out the 11k loan thinking i'm buying a 1000RR 06 black...but i found out that i couldn't afford the $4700 a year insurance. anyway, the dealership called me today, and told me that there is a used CBR600RR 05 Tribal with little less than 200miles, mint condition for 7400 out the door. is this a good deal? should i be putting down my deposit tomorrow? i'm very excited i cannot sleep tonight. and oh yeah the dealership quoted me the 06 black cbr600rr for $8500. my logic is .. since 06 and 05 600rr have no difference at all except color, why not go with cheaper bike ? am i right in thinking this way?

 

I bet if you play hard ball you can talk them down at least $500 if not more.

 

charles a bit worng the o6 has a wheelbase of .2 inches longer, and some minor revisions to motor and what not. but yeah id say it be almost the same bike.. im buying an 06 already have $2500 on it.. i was thinkin of of 05 but was like y not just get an 06.. i like getting the newest i can get you know what i mean?

 

I got mine new for $7500. I would offer $7K and you should beable to get it.

 

7400 out the door... jump on it. Most of us paid around 9000 for ours OTD. It's a good deal for you. I know it's nice to have the newest... but the second you sign that paper, a 9000 cbr with 200 miles is worth 7400 OTD. See my point. Think of all the gear and upgrades you can do with the left over cash.

 

Damn, over here I'd be lucky to talk down an 06 by 300 maybe, LoL they won't budge on the new ones cause they know if you don't buy the next guy will.

 

I bought mine in July... mid season, so I guess I was lucky for talking them down at all. I had already made up my mine what I wanted so I was ready to buy and had pre-approved credit union financing. Insurance was all set up, I just had to make a phone call and tell them the VIN. Most of the shops around here cater to a different style rider than I am.... they have the bikes set up with chrome swingarm, rims and so on. I had to go to a Honda of (insert city name here) shop to buy a normal, un-pimped ride. I was checking out my 2nd Honda shop on a Saturday afternoon, the prices were the same... but I was still going to check a few more. It'd be worth driving an hour to save $$$$, but they were intent on keeping me and got the price down close to MSRP OTD. SOLD!! That was my goal, I know the shops have to pay for their kids to go to college too.

I love my tribal graphics it looks so sleek and sexy, Dude go for the o5 especially since the kelly blue book value is about 7 k go online and see for your self. I wish i got a used one but then again I am the only one riding my girl and I know it. thats the best feeling knowing its yours and yours alone. I dont think the tribal is made anymore either I dont think it was a limited edition but I have only seen 1 other withind a 1oo mile radius and he totaled it 2 months after he got it. other then that I can confidently say that at the races (laguna Seca) my bike got so many looks and it was still all stock.
