Default CBR1000RR Tail light fitment?

Hello all,

new to this site, just picked up my 2007 pearl white 600RR. did some searching on this and not really found my answer. ive been looking to get ride of that ugly fender on the bike. i see alot of people recommending tripage.com, checked that out , thats what i figured what i might do if this dosent work. i know that its possible to retrofit to add the 03-06 600RR Tail Light on the 07+ with small modications.

anyways i was on ebay and picked up a intergrated clear alternatives tail light from a 06 1000RR for $13.

are the tails from a 1000RR the same as the 600RR?

thanks in advance
Mike

If you had a 2003-2006 600rr, it would work. But you have a 07 & the fitment it gonna be off. Plus, you run the risk of melting your taillight. If you are looking to put a intergrated taillight, you should check out sportbikelites.com. They carry the intergrated taillight for a wide variety of CBRs.

I've done this mod and I have no problems with melting. I have an Akra slip-on so I'm not sure if the stock exhaust is any different, although a lot, and I mean A LOT of guys on the 600rr.net site have done this one with no melting issues.

The tails are NOT the same. Some modding of your 07 needs to be done. There are youtube videos of how its done. Its a little work, but when done it looks a thousand times better. Also, go to http://www.600rr.net/vb/search.php and click "search titles only" and then search for "Tripage install". There are a lot of threads on this.
