I have been to Ron Ayers and they sent me a bolt kit which i don't think came with all the bolts i needed! I had to replace my left lower cowling (spelling) the kickstand side and there is a bolt that actually should have two parts. the bolt and lock nut. I didn't get it in the bag and even the honda dealership here really dosn't know what to order. it is the bolt closest to the mid fairing and stater cover, if you take the fairing off the bottom you can actually see the bracket that the bolt should be holding on to. Does anyone have a idea where i can get it. also i have lost 2 screws from my windscreen. they just fell off, the 2 middle on each side. has that happened to anyone else. thank you for your time and help

 

wow thats weird i get all my bolts from the honda dealer were i got my bike they always been helpfull with that kinda stuff.

 

The windshield screws will usually just break - they're plastic and crappy.

As far as the lower, you need what's called a wellnut. It's a threaded bronze or brass insert surrounded by black rubber. You have them all over the bike. In the windshield, tail section, ram air cover, etc. My advice is to take the bolt with you to Lowes. Lowes has a bunch of wellnuts in the fastener section - look in the specialty fastener area, usually in big drawers.

If you can't find one there, let me know. I have a bunch of them. I live in Lakeland and work in Orlando near John Young and Sand Lake.

I've taken on and off so many of those and I can't really remember the last one I broke or striped. Their fine just be carefull and don't over tighten them.

 

I'm going to be neeting another member of a different board to drop off a left-side peg and shifter tomorrow at 11am at the Wendys at John Young and Sand Lake in front of the Super WalMart.

If you can get there, I'll have some wellnuts in various sizes.Putting them in my backpack now. Oh, bring the bolt so we can make sure that you get the right size.
