Blue smoke!!!!
Help!!!
My 03 600RR is puffing some blue smoke! Is my engine screwed?!
Under 4000 miles on my bike and it is puffing blue smoke. It mainly happens when I rev up the engine. Ill rev it up while at a stop, and after it idles down it will puff some blue smoke, also after I slow down to a stop after some hard riding. I called a dealer and they said that being as it has such low miles that my rings are probably not shot and that I might have oil in the airbox, or my plugs need to be changed... Any one know what this could be? Is it possible that I might have slightly too much oil in the bike, and that could cause a problem? Please help!!!!

RE: Blue smoke!!!!
well blue smoke is oil so you are definetly burning it
to make sure your oil is right.
stand your bike straight up and down
the oil shouldnt go above the top line on the window
do you have an aftermarket filter? sometimes they come with too much oil on them and it drips into the throttle bodies.
other than that bad plugs wouldnt cause you to burn oil. but burnin oil will foul the plugs
only a compression check will determine if your rings are shot
to make sure your oil is right.

RE: Blue smoke!!!!
Blue smoke on decel usually means valve guide seals.
Either there are defective parts or you don't let the engine warm up long enough before redlining it.
Keep an eye on your oil level and you should be fine. I wouldn't add anything else to the crank other than good ol' fashioned oil.
Any extended warranty?
