Default Bike Stands???

If I'm not planning on doing much self-maintenance on my bike or storing it for extended periods of time..are there any other benefits?

Why not get them? They are worth the money. There are places where you can get a front and rear bike stands for 100 bucks. Doing your own maintenance is easy and a lot cheaper. Its a lot easier to do chain lube and adjustment then doing it on the ground, and you should be doing that every 600-1000 miles.

ditto the savings on tire changes alone will pay for the stands pretty quick

^that too. I forgot that they shops charge some 50 bucks to take the rims off, put the tire on, and balance.

consider it an investment, it does pay off in the long run. I suggest getting a sturdy universal stand. one that fits almost all bikes, so u can still use it again in case you decide to get a different bike. i recently bought a pitbull rear/frnt stand. it is one of my best tools.

It's even easier to clean the bike while on stands. Also, parking it on the stands is more secure from a tipover, etc. Don't know what kind of garage traffic passes near your bike, but keep this in mind.
