count gears, until you get use to the rpm's or engine sound and road speed to tell what gear your in. i still count my gears out of habit

the one i have on my 1000 plugs straight into the diagnostics port -- no wire hacking required.

My blade don't even have a fuel level indicator? Don't know how those gear indicator works? Is it by memory? There should not be any electronic coming from the bike to tell what gears you are in? Same as my fuel level, in order to install a fuel indicator, I need to install a sensor inside the tank...

the indicator has a learning mode to program the associations between rpm and speed for each gear - honda has no native tranny sensor for gear indication.
