Any problem taking off rear pegs?

Any problem taking off rear pegs?
I have a 2007 CBR600RR and it seems to me a very quick and easy way to lose some weight and clean up the rear end is to remove the rear pegs and brackets. Two downsides I can see: (1) no protection for the rear brake reservoir, and (2) removal will leave unsightly holes and indentations in the frame.
I don't plan to carry a passenger ever. Are there downsides I haven't thought about? Has anyone done this? How ugly are the holes/indentations with the brackets removed? Is there a cosmetic fix for those?

you wont have any problems with the brake reservoir, I have a 600rr 2005 and you can't even notice the holes on it. on your year/model you shouldn't be able to really tell anyways, but its up to you. I hated having the rear pegs on, so those and a seat cowl and it'll look pretty pimp.

Are you really convinced it will make a big difference weightwise? I gain or lose more weight in a day than removing those pegs will do. Still, lots of people do it to clean up the look.It really would have only taken a few minutes for you to find out what it's going to look like and then put them back on. Sorry for the ranting, I'm cranky this week.
Anyways, it's not going to be bad looking at all. Nobody will even notice the holes. If you don't like them, then just put the bolts by themselves back in. Problem solved. If you're going to do it, then you might as well go ahead and get the rear cowl.

RE: Any problem taking off rear pegs?
I took the pegs off this evening. One slight glitch is that the brake line coming from the reservoir is attached to the right-side bracket. Not an insurmountable issue, but it will require finding something else to anchor it to. (It will flop around otherwise.)
I've got the seat cowl on order.
