Default abrupt throttle response

got a question... when coasting down from whatever speed, zero throttle condition, and then if give it a little throttle to get going again the response is really abrupt and jerky. i mean not smooth at all. is this normal? i had a 01 gixxer 600 and it wasn't like this at all. it makes shifting at lower speeds tricky at best. actually, it just makes riding in general difficult at lower speeds (guess i just need to haul ***). power commander maybe doing it? this is the first bike i've had with a power commander so i'm not familiar with them. thanks.

Mine does the same thing, '05 Black/Grey Tribal flame decals with a power commander.

So I'm leaning towards the power command.

And since you have an '05, do you have a reserve tank? This is my first bike ever, yes I got a 600 as a starter bike and yes I am careful.

When I bought it, the guy never gave me a manual.
