2012 model won’t start
Hi guys,
first post here.
My 2012 cbr600rr wont start.
i was in the middle of flushing the coolant process and tried to start it to blip the throttle but it would not start.
it made a very fast ticking noise when pressing the start button - could this be a dead battery?
FYI - i had foot surgery 9 weeks ago so I couldnt ride and only start the bike every week or so since.
i noticed the last few starts the clicking noise upon pressing start button slowed down.
Sorry guys I couldnt attach the video.

Yup, that's a dead battery. Using a battery tender to keep a trickle charge on it is better than starting it every few weeks. Starting takes a heavy toll on the battery charge and idling the engine for 5 or 10 min is not enough to replace that charge. Eventually the battery is low enough where it does what you see. Also notice that many of the readings on your gauge cluster flicker and go out, then go through a reset.
You can simply jump start the bike from a car and it will run just fine. I'd go for a nice long ride after you start it though. At least an hour plus. Or take the battery some place to have it tested. Many places will charge the battery first (takes a few hours for that part) before they test it. Kill 2 birds with one stone. You get your battery charged and you know if it's still good.
