All Things Motorcycle - Acceleration, horsepower, and torque has very good info on acceleration, horsepower, and torque. It's more than just hp.

It may just be me but these HP numbers seem low. I have a 05 600RR with a yoshi rs5 slip on, bmc filter, and a PCIII when I custom tuned and dyno'd it my max hp was 103.4

The retarded ignition timing on 09+'s is what did the horrible power numbers, nothing else. A difference of a couple HP between different dyno's means absolutley nothing, the exact same bike will do that between different ones. A $60 iginition fixer will add more power then a full exhaust, power commander and air filter put together [you should dyno about 104 stock with the ignition fixed].

yea, I will ask them

I got the slip-on as my first mod (after lowering) because stock muffler was too quiet for people to notice I was there. Actually it was the motorcycle cop that told me to make my muffler louder. I didn't put it on for power purpose. Then recently our vog (volcano fog) was thick, my bike and my neighbor's bike started to idle rough. So I changed the air filter. (not for power) Just looking at how it idle, I figure I will get PC and tune it to have the correct air/fuel mix that works for my bike.

I am not worry about the power issue though. We have no track here so I will never be on track. And I don't race neither. As long as it is running smoothly, I am happy.

I am learning how to read the graph though. My bike's sweet spot is 9K to 12K. So my bike has more "pull" power at that rpm in lower gear than higher gear in less than 9K.

Haha thats awesome that there is a "How To".

Yall are making me want to go get my bike tuned and tested now but that will take away from my new fairing fund. New fairings or a tune? What to get what to get?

I just talked to my shop to see which type of Dynamometer they use, and they said it is the brake dyno which is more accurate but it will read 10~15% less than inertia dynamometers. So it went somwhere from 103.82 to 108.32 by inertia reading method.
