If you really want to save money on a motorcycle purchase. SHOP AROUND. When I was looking to buy my 07 600RR in April I was prepared to pay MSRP maybe even higher. Granted, at the time I also lived in South-Eastern Georgia and riding season down there is almost year round. I got on the trusty internet and went to google, yahoo, etc. and looked for HIGH VOLUME Dealerships. I paid 7900 OTD for my bike by driving nearly 350 miles to get it. A lot of people would saythat I am an idiot for driving that far for my bike, but in retrospect, for the 700 miles round trip it cost me $120 in gas. I paid only8500 for the bike. SO, I basically paid $8620 for my bike. If I would have gone to my local dealer that is literally 2 miles away, I would have paid $10500. I SAVED $1880. Some people say " If you have dealer loyalty they will help you on the price and stuff in the future." BULL****. All they care about is their commission. I say make the drive and save a TON of money. You will be glad that you did.
how do you find high vol. dealerships? i look on ebay and in mags all the time but i know ebay can be shady/ risky sometimes.
How wouldi go about finding these dealerships or does anyone know one in Indiana/Ohio area.

Depends on whenever they sell out. There is no specified date.

Sometimes bikes will sit in crates for a couple of years before they're sold.

im also looking to buy an o8 rr as soon as taxes come in,, I actually went to the honda site and searched in a 50 mile radius for dealerships and was planning to call them. and just flat out asking the out the door price and what comes with it.. helmet, bells and whistles... anyhow i know i still have alot of homework to do. I really like the red 08 ones. anyone in the chicago area about to buy in the feb march time,, does the buddy system help bring the price down?

hit me up,, im in glendale heights IL...

I would assume that Honda is no longer producing 07s anymore and are working on producing 08s. As far as the US supply of 07s in the US they will be there untill they are all sold out. If your looking for a specific color scheme from 07 it may be difficult to find what your looking for the longer you wait.

for the OP best time to buy might be right when they are released, as the 08 won't case as much comotion as the 07 since its the same bike. Otherwise you may have to wait untill the winter of 09 before u get your 08 at a great steal.

I am lucky as I have a neighbor who used to be the general sales manager at a large cycle shop for 15 years. He says he can hook me up with an awseome deal (the actual cost of the bike to the dealer). The main question will be if they can get me a White 07 if not how much of a price difference it will be to get me a Red 08.
