Default 2007 HID question

Hi I am looking to install HID's on my 2007 600rr here but cannot figure out how to put the bulbs in, I have the lights and some people removed the front part of their bike to install. This doesnt seem necessary so I wanted to get an idea here. Blue Fox, I saw you installed HID's in a 07, did you drill anything and wheres a nice place to put the ballasts?? Check out this post on 600rr.net and scroll down a little to see where all the drilling and the other nonsense goes on and let me know if there's an easier way to do this. I have the lights and really want to put them in but I dont want it to look shotty.

I think Fox was going to post a new how-to on his new bike here shortly. I guess he is in the process of cropping the pics. I was kind of curious about the placement of the new slim ballasts myself.

I'm currently pissed off at that slim-ballast kit I bought. I compared it side by side to Hamster's bike (which is also an 07 with the large-ballast 6000k HID kit.) Mine has the slim-ballast 6000k HID kit. Side by side, Hamster's lights are about 30% brighter and a bit whiter as well. Not to mention, they warm up much faster.

So the slim-ballast kits are good for their size, but I'm currently ordering a large-ballast kit and trying to find an optimum place to mount them. On Hamsters bike, the fairings are bulging on the inside, and it rubs against the forks when you turn the bars.

So I'm currently finding out a way to mount the large ballasts. The mini-ballast kits are still brighter than stock headlamps, but they are not as bright as my large-ballast HID's I had on my 06 (which bugs a nit-picky person like myself.)

So when installing those lights hamster's/your 07's did you have to drill through that dust/water cover that is on the back of the light, like they do in that write-up I posted???
