Okay so one day when i was parked I noticed that on the right handle bar there is the throttle/brake cables. It is a metal thing that joins them together. I look at it one day and notics a gash/scratch in my front cowl due to keeping the handle bars turned to the left and locking it. Has anyone had this problem? How can i fixed this what touch up paint would you recommend I dont want to buy a whole new front cowl Any suggestions?? Pictures are below

anyone out there that has an 07/08RR and the front cowl is too close to the handle bars when they are turned to the left? Or did the person i bought it from messed with something not putting the front cowl on properly? Im thinking about putting some cushion(foam) around that metal thing and painting that gash/scratch.

you can get touchup paint from the dealer that will match. I would sweat it tho. Prolly wont be the last esp if you really ride it.

Trying pulling the stay out a bit...

 

i looked at mine today and dont have that problem maybe the stay is pulled out some reason

 

what is the "STAY" and how do i pull it out?? Any pictures i would appreciate

 

the stay is the metal frame work that the upper fairing mounts too.
