RE: 07 forks on 06
bad news bro they did not fit!!! i found a local guy that had 06 forks but the lower triple on the 07 is wider than the 06 so they would not fit also the axle of the 07 is thinner than my 06 so you would new spacer and or new rim
i believe to make the 07 forks to work you would new upper and lower triple and new spacers or 07 rim either way too much work.
i believe also 03-04 forks are diff. from 05-06 forks and they are not interchangeable, well good luck i hope they do fit on your bike cause they didnt fit on my 06 06 600rr!!!

RE: 07 forks on 06
he must have shown you 08 forks
i spent today taking measurement and it will fit the 05 06 07 front suspension is the same but the 07 came out in black honda's way of confusing people
the 08 model came out with lighter wheels hence the smaller axle and lighter rotors
do a search i think it was jfunkrr that did 06 conversion on his 04
i'll post pics in a few days

The 03/04 have the same forks - RWU (right way up) forks with axial mount calipers
The 05/06 have the same forks - USD (upside down) forks (gold uppers)with radial mount calipers
The 07/08 have the same forks - USD forks (black uppers) with radial mount claipers.
07 was the first major redesign of the 600RR when it lost all it's weight, the 08 is almost exactly the same (different graphics & the swingarm is anodized instead of painted).
I've owned and raced one of each generation, a 03, a05 and nowa 07,and have done lots of parts swaping...
To put 07/08 forks on a 05/06 you need the following:
- 07 forks, wheels, spacers, axle, and lower triple clamp W/steering stem.
- You'll need to use the 05/06 upper clamp due to the differentangle of the ignition key barrel and possibly the key barrel as well - I don't know for sure onthe key barrel.
- You can use calipers from the 05/06 or the 07/08as they'reall the same and willinterchange.
- You can use rotors from the 03to 08 as they all interchange(but I'd recommened using the 07/08 rotors as they're lighter than the 03-06 rotors).
