04 CBR600rr questions..
Hello. Im new to the forum, and have a couple questions. I have been riding a CBR1100XX Blackbird for the past three years. At this point, I am ready for a change and I love 600's. One of my co-workers is selling his 2004 CBR600RR. It is "candy blue", completely stock, and has just shy of 5k miles on it. I have not seen the bike yet. He bought it from a guy in Florida last year with 4,300 miles on it, never laid down. Upon purchasing the bike, he told me he tipped it over once in his driveway. I am told he repainted it after that, completely (factory candy blue). I asked why he repainted the whole thing, he told me the paint was fading from being in Florida and got a great deal through the body shop at our employer. (car dealership) With that said, I have a couple questions. He told me he bought it last year for $6500 and said he will sell it to me for $5500. Is this a good price? I have looked at similar listings, and this seems to be a steal. My second question is, are there any problems with the model year 2004 600rr's that I should know about? If there is something that someone wants to know about the bike, I can ask him at work. It just seems to be a really good deal and hearing that it was repainted, makes me wonder ... despite him saying it was never laid down. All help would be great. Thanks guys.

I would say go for it if you really trust the guy. If he dropped it in the driveway its been laid down...no way around that. their are some changes between the 04 and 05,06 models i would go do some searching on all the changes. The cbr rr's are awsome bikes!!

RE: 04 CBR600rr questions..
I hope to find out some more about the bike so I can be more elaborate on where its been, what if any has happened to it, etc. Reason for asking if there are any known problems with the 2004 model is because usually, when something first comes out, the problems haven't really been discovered yet, and the introductory year is what they use to build off of for the next model year, etc. Anything pertaining to a cbr600rr will help me greatly as I don't know much about these bikes.
