Default Won't turn over, just clicks

I am trying to get my 99 F4 to start. I just picked it up from a guy who told me all it needed was the starter relay switch. Well I replaced that, fully charged the battery and now it will not turn over. When I try to start it, I just hear clicks which sound like they are coming from the starter relay.

I checked the fuses by the seat, all ok, and couldn't find any more. I also tried searching but couldn't find anything F4 specific related to my problem.

If you someone could help steer me in the correct direction I would appreciate it greatly.

Depending on what the clicks sound like could just be a dead battery.

The clicks are coming from the starter relay solenoid switch.

I just tried a second battery. A buddy let me borrow it but it hasn't been used for a few weeks. I hooked it up to a charger and let it charge all night and then hooked it up, again just clicks.

As was said before.. clicking is usually a dead battery... check the voltage of the battery with a DVOM.. has to be at least 12.8ish I believe... over 13 is best...

I had the same problem recently. I just picked up a brand new battery at Walmart, charged it, and the engine turned over just fine.

Completely forgot to check that today. Will check the voltage first next time I mess with the bike.

I will give that a shot after I check the voltage.

I will try these two things some time tomorrow and report back.

Well the battery voltage reads 12.6. I tried push starting it in 2nd gear to no avail.

Is there a way to start the engine like on a car where you can use a screwdriver and cross the posts on the starter motor?
I picked up a wrecked cbr that needs the stator cover replaced, left handle bar, and clutch lever/peg. I know that one ran cuz he crashed it only a few weeks ago. I dont know when the last time the non-wrecked bike ran. I could take the parts off of that bike and fix the wrecked bike. The wrecked bike looks like it was taken care of a lot better than my other one up until it crashed.
So I could fix the wrecked one and use the other for parts (with no money spent) or try to get that one started and use the wrecked for parts (most likely buying a battery which still may not be the problem).

is the starter getting power and how much? the relay sends power to the starter via one wire. if you have 12v there while cranking, then the starter is bad assuming the engine is not locked up. you could give power to that wire to see if it cranks. the relay can be jumped to do this. did you check the 30a fuse in the relay?

many clicks is the sign of low voltage, while one strong click points to the starter.
can you post a short video of the clicking?
