When sync'ing the carbs....
How on earth do you see the adjustment screw / adjust the carbs? Here's my setup: I have a 2000 F4. I have the tank propped up as far as I can, still being able to deliver fuel. I left the airbox on, and just put couplers to extend the tubes (originally attached to the airbox) from the carb to a motion pro sync'er. I can stick my head in there and have a really hard time reaching the screws to do the sync. When I think I hit it, I somehow actually rev the engine with the screwdriver, so I pull out.
This was right after changing the rear brake and changing the spark plugs. Compared to those, I thought this was supposed to be easy I am able to attach the motion pro and see just how out of wack my carbs are... and wow, they're pretty bad.
Anyone have advice or pics that might help? I have seen the how-to's for carb sync but it was for a hurricane and I somehow still just can't get it! I was hoping to find a write up on an f4 on the web somewhere but just can't find it!

Adjusting the synch may change the idle somewhat since you are changing the opening on the butterfly plates just like when you open the throttle, also, if you're pushing in it may be opening them while you do it, it's fine if the idle goes up a little, you can adjust that later, just get it in sych, readjust the idle, and blip the throttle a few times to check it. If it's done right it should settle out to the same place within 30mm HG or about 1 inch difference on yours since yours simulates mercury
