Yep, just did the F4i subframe split-seat F4i conversion on my 2000 F4. Its not that difficult. You'll need...F4i split-seat subframe '01-'03, seats, tail cowl, battery tray, & misc hardware that goes on the F4i subframe...oh, & time & patience.

 

They should rename the CBR F4 forum the "I wanna change my banana seat to split seat...how do I do it?" forum. Seriously there's about 2 or 3 new threads a week in here on this very subject, if you're willing to source the parts then you should be willing to take 2 minutes to search...you're bound to get about 90 pages of strictly banana to split tail topics.

 

pintodoidod: Nevermind naysayers, before I joined this forum, I searched everything I could find on doing the tail swap conversion from F4 to F4i. Although there was some info on F4i banana to F4i split-seat, there was basically very little on F4 to F4i, not that I could find anyway...& I spent hrs on the interweb searching. Basically, I had to forumulate my own "fixes" & overcome my own challenges. To help other F4 owners out there, I made a *tutorial* of sorts...its in my cbrforum photo gallery. I captioned each pic in a kind of step by step manner for others to see how I approached the swap, & showed what I did. My intention is to simply help other F4 owners do the swap w/ as much comprehensive info & pictures as possible. If you need any help whatsoever, just let me know. These forums are supposed to be for information exchange & help...& for one, I'm glad to do it.

 

Hey gotcbr, I did the same think on the '04 600rr swing arm conversion for the F4 in the cbr modifications forum, that's a great mod too, huge noticable difference in handeling.
