I run a Bridgestone s20 of front and o23 in the rear. I used to run the 16 in the rear and found it was a little too soft to last for commuting but great in the canyons. The 23 gives me the best of both with a hard Center and a softer more grippy sidewall.

Good to know, your the first person (other than reviews) that really has an opinion about them. Sjona, if you don't mind me asking, what was it that the guys said that turned you away from the dunlops?

Thanks for all the feedback guys. Sorry for the last response. Been out riding all day.

I will probably be mainly using the bike for an around town commute without much freeway action since I haven't gotten comfortable enough yet to ride on the freeway.

I do in the future plan to do longer trips to San Diego and Bakersfield and AZ (I'm in the SFV) to visit family, but for now mostly just within a 15 mile radius around the valley on the streets.

I do plan to ride often though. I want to get as much experience as possible.

according to them, they work great at the track or on a really hot day when you can keep them heated up, but they said when the temp drops below 60ish they become kinda hard and dont warm up too well(there is quite alot of reviews online about this too), and i do quite a bit of riding in the cooler weather at the beginning/end of the season(45+ degrees)
but this week its been about 50 degrees going to work everyday and i still dont have a complaint about my pirellis
