Default Stolen F4 now won't start

My 2000 F4 was stolen last week, the police found it today and it is still in original condtion. The only thing they did was to cut the 4 wires to the ignition to try to hotwire it. They blew the fuse under the seat and couldn't get to it so they gave up. I'm trying to start it now by crossing the two red wires. I see from the schematic that the blue wire goes to the fan. I don't know what the pink wire does other than the schematic says it goes to the ignition module with no detail. The bike will turn over when the two red wires are crossed but it won't start. What should I be doing with the pink wire. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I can't use the ignition switch because they buggered the inside and now the key won't fit.

The problem is your trying to hotwire your own bike :P the bikes anti-theft mechanism (the pink wire) is doing its job, you need to buy a new ignition or wire up a push button start. It requires a certain voltage sent through it to the ECM for your bike to start. Im sorry I hope you understand that I feel uncomfortable about displaying how to defeat our bikes anti-theft over the internet to someone who hasnt provent that he isnt the thief. Hope you can understand.

Edit: check out Honda4u . com they have the best prices Ive seen.

Thanks, I thought the pink wire was the problem. I disassembled the ignition switch and resoldered it and the bike started right up. I was then able to disassemble the tumbler in the lock and clear it of what was the broken tip of a mutitool. I'll get some wire wrap this morning and it will be fine. You have explained enough about the pink wire to know what it does, Thanks for your input.

Glad you got it back. Will it take a lot of work besides the ignition to get her back up and running?

Not much damage The four wires to the ignition were cut and they got the wiring to the left turn signal too. A little solder and shrink tubing and that was fixed. The key would not go in so I took off the top of the triple tree and dis assembled the ignition switch. I was able to get the tumbler out and found the end of a multitool inside. Took it out the key works fine. Pretty cheap. Solder 30 cents, shrink tubing 50 cents stupid lazy thieves-priceless.

I would change the fuse first if you haven't. Maybe that is why.
