Default "slipping" in neutral, transmission problem?

Recently I noticed that when I shift my F4 into neutral, it doesn't exactly stay. It is not slipping back into gear, however, the neutral light sort of sputters on and off- if I try to put the kickstand down the bike itself starts to sputter and sometimes dies as the kickstand/ gear safety cuts in.

This doesn't happen when I first start the bike, but usually if I've been on it for a while, and am looking to turn it off...It doesn't always happen either, but occasionally.

The bike runs like a champ otherwise, no gear slippage on the road, shifts great...

just wondering if this is something anybody else has dealt with. could it be electrical, or should I be concerned about the transmission/clutch?...

thanks

Could also be neutral switch. If it's starting to go out it could be telling ignition that bike is in gear and kills motor when kickstand is down.
