Not to rip on you at all man, with all due respect... have you ever thought that maybe your attitude is what they are ripping on more than the bike? I saw some of your other post's, maybe your new here or what ever but first things first. Your attitude is either going to make you great or set you up for a great fall (Not from you bike, but with the world). You can have a big wheel and have an awesome attitude and people are going to respect you and want to be around you! Even if you drive a moped or whatever man. All I wanted to say is this... the bike is respected around the world, CBR's are a world championship leader, proven many times over repeatedly. First get your attitude right then everything will start falling into place. Life lesson for Friday, August 11, 2006 is complete, school is out! Have a great weekend!

I think the Honda VTR or some sport cruiser/tourer bike has a single swing arm, I've seen the modification write up somewhere I'll try to find it for you.

I'm doing the 600rr swinger conversion, and I know what I needed to complete this mod, so to go with a single sided swinger, you'll need quite a bit more. You'll need a swinger from a '89 - up VFR (or VTR? I can't remember), a swinger and lower link pin, the wheel (because it's on a hub not an axel), shock, calliper bracket, calliper, brake line, rotor, rear sproket (and probably a new chain because the single sided swinger is longer), carriers and you'll probably have to make your own shims to center the wheel. I'm not sure if there is an issue with mounting the swinger in the stock location without modification or if the lower link will have to have new brackets made. Just rember, all these mods are drastically going to change the suspension/handeling characteristics and retuning could tke some time. The 600rr swinger mod is fairly simple and a lot cheeper. I purchased the swinger, the brake calliper bracket and a 1000rr shock off ebay for under $300CAD, delivered! Ironically, it cost me $400 for the carbon fender and 2 piece carbon chain gurad for it! I can still uttilize my wheel, rotor, brake calliper, axel, sprocket and it mounts directly to the stock location, a little mod needed for the lower link. I though about doing the single sided swinger untill I saw what was involved. I think it would be a killer mod, I'd love to see pics od it when it's done. Good luck, and I hope this helps.

Here's a pic of the swinger I got... It doesn't have the 1000rr shock or the second piece of the chain guard in these pics, but I think it's gonna look awsome when it's done.

I don't know how it would effect your handling after you dial it in (as best as the new setup will allow anyways), but you can usually always get lowering links for the shock and different fork springs to compensate for which ever adverse effect is the cause. I can't see it doing anything but good if done properly.
